Nature as inspiration
There is something endlessly inspiring about time spent by the ocean. Immersed in a natural design aesthetic beside the Pacific Ocean, my home, surrounded by beautiful textures, calming tones and the quiet rhythm of nature, I find myself completely restored creatively. The ever changing seascape, always changing it up, softened coastal light and a sense of stillness offered the most wonderful reminder of how deeply our surroundings influence the way we feel within a space.
Time spent with darling friends in their stunning home was equally inspiring. Their interiors sit so effortlessly within the landscape beyond, so refined yet relaxed, layered yet understated.
Watching the light shift throughout the day, seeing the connection between indoors and out and experiencing a home that felt truly connected to its surroundings quietly sparked so many ideas for future interiors.
Such fabulous inspiration.
One particularly lovely discovery was Natural Eclectic by Heather Ross, a beautifully considered book by a local writer exploring layered interiors, natural materials and homes filled with warmth and personality. So much within its pages resonated deeply with how I believe spaces should evolve, a thoughtfully collected, lived in and deeply connected to the landscape around them.
The treasures gathered through travel, antique finds with stories to tell, weathered woods, woven textures and tactile natural materials all bring soul and authenticity into a home. These are often the details that create the most enduring interiors; spaces that feel personal, timeless and quietly elegant rather than overly curated. True to oneself a unique space
There is something incredibly grounding about coastal living. For me, it sits deep within my heart, a feeling of coming home. The softened palettes inspired by sand, stone and sea, the organic textures of driftwood and linen and the balance between refinement and relaxation create interiors that feel both nurturing and beautifully composed.
Nature remains one of my greatest sources of inspiration. The muted shades of ocean pebbles, softened blues, sea grass green or pebble pinks , weathered timbers and layered organic textures continue to influence the way I approach interiors.
Creating spaces that feel calm, welcoming and deeply connected to the natural world.
Always inspired by the beauty found in nature truly a deep collaboration that is there to guide us.
I would love to share my ideas, explore your brief and curate a home together that is relaxed calm and incorporating quiet functionality.
